What is love?
And no, I’m not talking about that iconic pop song we all remember so well.
Some of us have never gone a day in our lives without either conveying the words “I love you” to someone close to us or been on the receiving end. Yet there are those among us who may have never uttered that simple sentence. Can’t bring themselves to say those three little words even if they may feel them. What is sadder is some people may go their entire lives without hearing the phrase that can elicit a smile or bring comfort in a time of need.
According to the Merriam-Webster dictionary, the simple meaning of love is “a feeling of strong or constant affection for a person”. But what does that really mean? Is your definition different than let’s say your friend, family or significant other?
Recently a friend of mine and I were discussing love and the different types of love. Surprisingly, we came up with a long list with some unusual kinds of love that most people don’t think about.
It is those kinds of love that I want to discuss in this blog. I invite you to share your ideas and comments here. It is always interesting to see how a concept that we all take for granted can mean so many different things to so many others.
